Introduction:
Work-related musculoskeletal disorders are a serious problem for nurses due to frequent patient mobilization (lifting, transferring and positioning during care delivery).
Therefore, it is imperative to raise nurses’ awareness of this issue and provide them with the necessary knowledge for quality care delivery, without harming their own health in the short-, medium- or long-term.
Body mechanics involves the coordinated effort of muscles, bones, and the nervous system to maintain balance, posture, and alignment during the performance of daily activities, moving and lifting.
Objectives:
• To acquire knowledge and skills on these topics;
• To analyze and reflect on daily practices;
• To translate theory into practice for changing behaviors;
• Outcome achievement.
